Tyndale House is entirely funded by private support. The income received from individuals who use the library and accommodation is heavily subsidised in order to allow as many people as possible to make use of the research facilities.

Our annual operating cost remains less than a million pounds, and yet the impact which Tyndale House has on the global church is immeasurable. Pastors, students and scholars from across the world come every year to study at Tyndale House. Books are written here, PhD’s are completed, courses are planned and sermons are composed.

Alumni of Tyndale House Cambridge include F. F. Bruce, D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, John Stott, J.I. Packer, John Piper, D. A. Carson, Wayne Grudem, and Jill Briscoe. Though there are many famous people who have studied at Tyndale House, our focus is always on mentoring, tutoring, and equipping the next generation of Biblical scholars.

Your donation will help in various aspects of our work including:

  • Library provision: In order to maintain the library’s status as a world-class biblical research centre, we need to continue to expand the library collection of all relevant academic texts. Each year, this requires a larger budget as more books are published and prices rise. We are also expanding the library staff and increasing the IT facilities in the library.
  • STEP project: Scripture Tools for Every Person is Tyndale House’s ongoing project to make the best resources for biblical studies freely available to everyone who needs them. The goal is to make the tools capable of working on phones and low-spec computers (even with intermittent or no internet access). The STEP Project aims to grant all believers access to a wealth of resources previously only available to specialist scholars.
  • Majority World Scholars: Even at their current subsidised rates, the cost of library use and accommodation at Tyndale House is prohibitive for many students and scholars from the majority world. We would like to be able to extend bursaries to more of these students to enable them to benefit from the resources and community here.
  • Research Fellows and Support Staff: The ongoing work of Tyndale House requires the scholarly and pastoral input of the Research Fellows and the hard work of the various administrative and other staff.
